Personal data protection
We inform you that on June 30, 2003 the Council of Ministers approved the Legislative Decree, n.196 published in the Official Gazette n.174 of July 29, 2003 with which the new "Code regarding data protection was established. personal "(hereinafter referred to as the Code).
The Code, inspired by the introduction of greater guarantees in the processing of personal data and the simplification of existing regulations, brings together law no. 675/1996, all the decrees and provisions connected to it and, also in the light of the rulings and opinions provided in recent years by the Privacy Guarantor, it can be considered a single text on the subject.
- The entry into force of this decree was initially set, by article 180 of the same decree, at 30 June 2004 but has undergone several extensions:
- - Law Decree no. 24 of 2004 June 158, published in the Official Gazette no. 147 of 25 June 2004, sanctioned the extension to 31 December 2004;
- 9 of 2004 November 266, published in the Official Gazette no. 264 of 10 November 2004 sanctioned the extension to 30 June 2005;
- - Law no. 1 of 2005 March 26, which converted into law, with amendments, the decree law of 30 December 2004, no. 314, sanctioned the extension to 31 December 2005;
- - the decree-law of 30 December 2005, n. 273, published in the Official Gazette no. 303 of December 30, 2005, extended the deadline to March 31, 2006. Therefore, by March 31, 2006, the provisions envisaged by the Code must be adopted.
